Highlights
Lake Agnes takes my heart! It is such a beautiful hike, starting you off at the famous Lake Louise. This stunning hotel has burnt down twice, once in 1800 and again 1924, no lives were lost, but rebuilt each time. Lake Louise is the starting point to the Bow River. The Victoria Glaciers and the peaks of the Rockies around the lake drain into it, then flow to the rivers. During the winter, you can ice skate on Lake Louise, go on Horse carriage rides or sit at the outdoor restaurant to enjoy the views. We chose to hike up to Lake Agnes. It is an incline most of the way up. You will reach Mirror Lake to take in Little Beehive Mountain, you get a choice to proceed to the right towards Lake Agnes or you could go left to the 6 glaciers.

Lake Louise

We continued up to Lake Agnes, you may want to stop a few times to take in the spectacular views. At the top, you will find stairs and a little cabin. In the spring & summer, they open the cabin for tea and treats while you enjoy the Lake, mountains and views.
Final Thoughts
This is a must! I will be going back to hike even further to see Big Beehive & the 6 glaciers. However, the trail is quite long and requires crampon's in the winter.
